Units Convertor App Reviews

First about the program - not a bad application, useful if you need that sort of thing on a routine basis. Very simple to use and understand. **HOWEVER** This was offered at first as a free application, and the iPhone and iTunes will allow updating the software to the latest version WITHOUT advising you that the program now is not free - and now when you have updated it, you have paid for it. Thank goodness it is only $0.99 - but Apple should not allow this business model to continue, and the developer should be ostracized for his business practices. I for one will NOT deal with his software at all in the future, free or not.

Very easy to do conversions - nice to see they added some more measurement options, hopefully more to come. The spinning wheels are easy to use to quickly change your results. Hopefully people will stop complaining about the price for apps - if 99 cents is too much for you to afford then dont buy it. When you figure Apple takes their 30% cut of the 99 cents, then the developer has to pay taxes on the remaining amount - you should be thankful they priced it so reasonably!

The Installer version of "Units Convertor" was really better, this is not a great convertor and now you have to pay for it... non sense

Anyone who turns a free app with such a simple premise to a paid app deserves 1 star. Choke on it. YOU FAIL!

Wow thanks for letting us know that the update would charge us... Thought if you got it during the free period it was always free and app store does not warn you of the charge just says would you like to update....

Apple should be ashamed of their business tatics and remove this app from the store!

This was free and suddenly an update comes... i accepted it... i didnt noticed until today the update was not free... thats cheating guys... people can sue you for that... thank god i had no money in my itunes account... i dont want to give money to cheaters or should i say robbers?... so i got the update for free (idk how it was able to update though) but many people didnt... i dont recommend something from this developer...

Its crap that this switch to $ without more warning. Dont buy this....The other app is better.

I like the App but would like to see more units like Barrells in volume. It works well and if you need and app like this I would reccomend it. And really folks its 99 cents not a lot of money here.

It was a decent app, at best, when it was free. But changing from a free app to paid to boost exposure ruins it for me and any thinking person. Ill be removing this app from my iPhone immediately. Lesson to all developers of all software for all platforms, if you want to charge for your software, do it from the start. Dont give it away for free to try to hook people and then switch to paid software. Thats called a "Bait and Switch" and its morally and ethically wrong.

The Developer changed the price of the app, i had downloaded it when it was free and then I got the update via iPhone and didnt notice the price was changed till after i downloaded the update, If I get charged for the update I am going to file a Chargeback on my Credit card for that is horrible business practice and unethical. They should be banned from the App Store!

I downloaded this app when it was free, and at that price it was fine. Then the dev changed the price to .99 and called it an update. I (and likely thousands of others) updated without realizing that I would be charged the .99. Bad business, and I will never download anything from this developer ever again.

I got it when it was free. If I found out I got charged youre screwed. Actual product is amazing.

I got the app before you had to pay for it and my update was free. The developers should find a way to refund people for their cheapish behavior. I still like the app though but theyshould add money and time converters as well.

My wife and I love this app. The recent addition of teaspoons, tablespoons, etc., to the Volume conversion has been especially useful for us in the kitchen, as we spend a lot of time converting European recipes. The user interface is both easy to use and intuitive.

To GameandDev........ Either way, you didnt have to pay for it so why are you complaining?. Id say thats a great way to market any product. Trial before purchase. Gr8 Work guys, keep it up!!!!!!

A lot of people seem to deliver one star rating because they believe they were charged $1. This to me is ridiculous, for one check your purchase history before you argue that you were scammed and secondly even if you had been scammed into paying $1 why would you be so concerned after all you own a $300-$600 device.
